Meet Electra Byers
Licensed Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Electra Byers (she/her)—a couples therapist in Greensboro who helps thoughtful adults and couples untangle the patterns that keep them overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from themselves and each other.
My work centers on the emotional, nervous-system, and relational impact of trauma, stress, and life transitions. Many of my clients have tried therapy before. They’re self-aware and insightful—but still feel stuck in anxiety, overthinking, self-criticism, or relationship patterns that won’t shift. Others come during seasons of transition—becoming a parent, rebuilding trust, or navigating significant life changes.

I take an active, relational approach. We’ll make sense of what’s happening—but we won’t stop there. We’ll work with the patterns as they show up in real time, so change isn’t just something you understand, but something you experience.

My style is relational, mindful, and body-based, grounded in contemporary trauma work. Sessions move at the pace of your nervous system while still creating forward movement. We might slow down to notice what’s happening in your body, track patterns in your relationships, or work with real-time dynamics in session so change feels tangible and useful.

If you’re looking for a therapist who can help you understand what’s happening—and actually shift it, let’s talk.

The first step is a consultation. It’s a chance for us to get a sense of what’s going on and whether this feels like the right fit.

Couples Therapy
You love each other—but something isn’t working. The same arguments repeat, or distance keeps growing. We’ll make sense of what’s happening between you and help you find your way back to feeling like a team again.
Anxiety & Overthinking
Your mind won’t stop scanning or second-guessing, and your body stays tense. We’ll work with your nervous system so you can feel more grounded, clear, and steady.
Relationship Patterns
You keep finding yourself in the same dynamics—overgiving, shutting down, or walking on eggshells. We’ll uncover the pattern and help you shift it in real time, in session.

Your past still shows up in how you feel, react and relate. We’ll help your nervous system recognize what’s over so you can respond to the present with more clarity and choice.
You’re talking, but not feeling heard. Conversations escalate, shut down, or go in circles. We’ll help you understand what’s underneath and in a way that actually brings you closer to each other.
Pregnancy and early parenthood can bring anxiety, overwhelm, and strain on your relationship. We’ll help you feel more supported, steady, and grounded in who you’re becoming—individually and together.
