Meet Electra Byers
Licensed Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Electra Byers (she/hers) — a therapist who helps thoughtful, sensitive adults and couples untangle the patterns that keep them overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from themselves and the people they love.

My work centers on the emotional, nervous-system, and relational impact of trauma, stress, and big life transitions. Many of my clients have tried therapy before. They’re self-aware and insightful but still feel stuck in anxiety, self-criticism, overthinking, perfectionism, or relationship patterns that won’t change. Others come to me during seasons of transition—becoming a parent, rebuilding trust, healing from burnout, or navigating identity shifts.

I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a belief in your basic goodness and innate capacity to heal. Rather than telling you who to be or how to feel, we’ll explore what your emotions and symptoms are trying to communicate. Together we look at the survival strategies you learned earlier in life, update the ones that no longer serve you, and practice new ways of relating—to yourself, your body, your partner, and your world.
My style is relational, mindful, body-based, and grounded in contemporary trauma theory. Sessions move at the pace of your nervous system. We might slow down to notice sensation, track patterns in relationships, explore stuck places from a somatic lens, or practice real skills in the room so change feels tangible and useful.

I specialize in trauma and complex PTSD, anxiety, postpartum/perinatal mental health, relationship distress, betrayal healing, identity transitions, and couples work. I also offer couples intensives and a postpartum therapy group for parents with babies 0–9 months.

If you’re seeking a therapist who can meet you with steadiness, depth, and warm attunement—and who works with both the mind and the body—I’d be honored to support your next chapter.
Mental Health Conditions

Anxiety
Your body won’t settle and your mind keeps looping worst-case scenarios. You just want to feel calm and clear again.
Perfectionism
You hold yourself to impossible standards and still feel like you’re falling short. The drive to “get it right” can leave you drained and disconnected from joy. There’s another way—one built on compassion instead of criticism.

Relationship Issues
You love deeply but end up in the same arguments or lonely patterns. Communication misfires, old hurts replay, and connection feels harder than it should. We’ll uncover what’s really happening so closeness can feel safe again.
Moments that were supposed to bring relief or joy can instead leave lasting fear or confusion. Medical settings or memories may still bring a surge of panic or shut-down. Processing those experiences can help your body trust safety again.
You adore your baby but can’t stop worrying, checking, or preparing for what might go wrong. Exhaustion and guilt can pile on quickly. You deserve support that helps you feel grounded and confident in your new rhythm.
